THE MUSEUM
Oil is history
An ancient oil mill, located in the historic center of Cropani, restored by Casa Ligarò, now houses the Oil Museum, born from the company's initiative to operate not only in the economic and agricultural field, but also in the cultural field. Inside this architectural jewel, it is possible to admire the ancient granite millstones from Sila and a very rare system of wooden presses and presses, a true engineering work made entirely by hand, dating back to the 17th century and still perfectly preserved. The cultivation of olives in the area of Calabria that today hosts the Casa Ligarò factories dates back to ancient times, and is evidenced by the presence of numerous ancient oil mills. The company, fully aware of how important careful recovery and conservation work is for the protection of these treasures of industrial archaeology, has made a significant contribution in this direction. In addition to the production of quality oil and gastronomic products, Casa Ligarò has always supported environmental education and cultural promotion of the area.
